HOLD THE PRESSES!

Mickey Horndasch, never-say-die Curator of the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, got it in her head to search the Cook County Assessor's site and locate the PIN for the current Oberweis property (03-08-100-009-0000).  She then ran that PIN against the property records at the Recorder of Deed's site (naturally, there's no easy way to jump from one to the other).  She actually found the name Crazy Ed's Custard.

Not only that, the Recorder of Deeds site lists quite a few owners, including, at one point, the Cook County Sherrif's Dept. (in 1992).

Search the Recorder of Deeds property database at:

Search the Assessor's database at:
(Mickey used the "search by address" option, entered 1-100 E. Dundee Rd, Arlington Heights and then selected 9 E. Dundee from the results)

Enjoy!

By the way, Mickey was hard at work with her volunteers here in the library, getting historical documents digitized for the Digital Past Arlington Heights project.  If you haven't visited it before, it's truly cool!

Wow, I'm impressed. I think I would have gone with Crazy "anything" because it sounded so right but now that I hear it Crazy Ed's sounds right. My Aunt had said something like "Eddie's"

Thank you so much! Thumbs%20Up
